MINISTER LUKAČ HOSTED THE REPRESENTATIVES OF HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH

Today, in Banja Luka, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Dragan Lukač, hosted the representatives of the non-governmental organization of Human Rights Watch (HRW).

Minister Lukač hosted the representatives of this organization, which focuses on protecting and promoting human rights, in order to discuss the report on the situation regarding media freedom in the Western Balkans.

The participants of the meeting agreed that it was necessary to publicly and unequivocally condemn all the attacks on journalists and media. In accordance with that, Minister Lukač said that the Republic of Srpska Police was undertaking all the measures and activities in accordance with law so that media representatives would be protected from possible attacks, and that they would timely perform activities with this aim in future.

Minister Lukač expressed readiness for further cooperation with the HRW organization with the aim of raising awareness on human rights and the necessity of working on their protection.
