MUSEUM OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA POLICE WITNESSING POLICE DEVELOPMENT IN THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

On the premises of the Administration for police education, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has a permanent display of museum pieces opened for both professional and general public, witnessing the establishment and history of the Republic of Srpska Police. There are 650 museum pieces displayed on this exhibition and this number is growing on a daily basis.

In this museum exhibition, there are police uniforms from different periods, equipment used in police work, weapons, police vehicles, and insignia of ranks, titles and organizational units. Furthermore, a part of this exhibition are police documents and regulations, photographs of police members, personal documents and other items issued by the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.

By the end of the year, with the efforts invested by the members of the Administration for police education, this exhibition should become the specialized Museum of the Republic of Srpska Police.

The future museum also displays the equipment for forensic techniques, equipment for establishing radio and telephone connections and a collection of crime showpieces.

Head of the Administration for police education, Mr. Mile Šikman, pointed out the readiness for the official opening of the Museum of the Republic of Srpska Police in the near future and added: ‘The activities related to professional processing of the museum material have already started, and after that, the catalogue of museum pieces will me made’.

Mr. Sikman also announced that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is planning to organize individual and theme exhibitions in public security centers with the aim of additionally confirming the idea, preserving the tradition and strengthening the trust of the citizens in the Republic of Srpska Police.
