POLICE ACADEMY CADETS IN VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN

The traditional voluntary blood donation campaign organized on the occasion of celebrating the Saint Archangel Michael, Patron Saint of the Ministry, started today at the Republic of Srpska Blood Transfusion Institute.
More than 70 cadets and students of the High School of Internal Affairs donated their blood, and the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, used the opportunity to thank them for their noble gesture.
″They may not be aware how important and special their act, although voluntary, really is and that it represents a part of the work of a police officer – to help the citizens″, said Minister Karan in his statement to the media.
He also stated that this was the beginning of the campaign that would take place in the upcoming period, and that all police administrations would participate in it.
Police Academy cadet Bojan Malešević and high school student Milica Đurić were some of the students and cadets who donated their blood. They said they were proud of their act and the opportunity to provide help and demonstrate humanity.
Ms Gordana Guzijan, Director of the Republic of Srpska Blood Transfusion Institute, thanked the members of the RS MoI for their participation in the voluntary blood donation campaign, pointing out the traditional and longstanding cooperation between the two institutions.
″We are always proud when young people come to donate blood, since for some of them it is the first time to encounter with this type of humanitarian work, and these are the generations that will continue the voluntary blood donation in the Republic of Srpska″, Guzijan said, adding that the Institute has sufficient blood stock.
The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, and Head of the Administration for Police Education, Mr Mile Šikman, also attended the event.
