50 NEW OFFICIAL VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE

Today, at the Training Centre in Zalužani, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, awarded keys of 50 new official vehicles for the police.
Minister Karan said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior was as strong as each of its members are trained and equipped, and that the Ministry would continue to educate their staff through the Police Academy, and from now on, the High School of Internal Affairs.
He stated that the total amount of BAM 13.5 million was spent on buying official vehicles, and that 250 new official vehicles were bought for the needs of the Ministry.
‘As a part of this operational leasing, we have previously obtained 102 vehicles, 25 in the beginning of the current year, and today, we officially awarded another 50 new vehicles to our police officers. We will continue to equip our police forces’, Minister Karan said.
He added that, in 2018, BAM 176 million was invested in equipping the Ministry of the Interior, and the largest part of this amount – BAM 48 million – was invested in police facilities. The total amount of BAM 31 million was invested in the Training Centre.
The Minister pointed out that all around the Republic of Srpska a great number of police stations and administration was adapted or reconstructed.
The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has invested the total amount of BAM 44 million in uniforms, equipment and weapons, BAM 12 million for traffic security, i.e. for 100 stationary and 10 mobile radars in the Republic of Srpska.
‘We invested BAM 16.5 million in buying special field and light technical vehicles – 15 Despot and Vihor vehicles. We provided three helicopters for our Helicopter unit whose total value is BAM 42 million’, Minister Karan said.
