FOUR PERSONS ARRESTED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN THE INTERNATIONAL ACTION ‘MOZAIK 2023’

The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with Europol and police agencies of the Republic of Serbia, Republic of Slovenia, Republic of Croatia and the Republic of North Macedonia are realizing the international operational action ‘Mozaik 2023’, focused on preventing sexual exploitation of children.
The police officers of the Unit for countering high-tech crime of the Crime Police Administration, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with police administrations Prijedor, Doboj and Gradiška, arrested four persons whose initials are the following: a D.D. from Prijedor, a Z.T. from Kozarska Dubica, a B.J. from Modriča and a Ž.M. from Teslić, based on suspicion that they committed the criminal offence ‘Exploitation of Children for Pornography’ from Article 175 of the Republic of Srpska Criminal Code.
Acting by the orders of the competent courts, searches were performed on four locations for which it was confirmed that are used by the persons connected to the commission of the aforementioned criminal offence, and on that occasion, the following means of perpetration were found and seized: mobile phones, laptops, USB memory sticks, memory cards, SIM cards and other devices for keeping digital data, as well as other items that could be related to the commission of the criminal offence.
The criminal offences were committed when the suspects used social networks, as well as communication groups, published and exchanged materials of sexual abuse and child abuse. The suspects also contacted children by provoking them to create pornographic material or sending it to them.
Initial information that led to detecting the perpetrators and the realization of the operational action was delivered by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
After completing the investigation against the aforementioned persons, the reports on the committed criminal offences shall be submitted to the competent prosecutor’s offices.
On this occasion, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would like to urge everybody, especially the parents/guardians of minors to pay special attention to their children’s communication on social networks. The Ministry shall continue to implement prevention activities related to education of children on dangers of digital age and the activities for detecting and providing evidence for criminal offences related to sexual exploitation of children.
