THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR WILL NOT ALLOW THREATS TO THE SECURITY SITUATION DURING THE ELECTIONS

The security situation in the Republic of Srpska is favorable. The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has ensured the peaceful and democratic atmosphere during the pre-election period for the local elections in the Republic of Srpska and prevented any major incidents. The police officers have successfully secured 297 public assemblies during the pre-elections campaign, 100 of which were held in the open and 197 outdoors, and the police responded timely to all reports or findings that might pose a threat in this period. This was the conclusion of the staff meeting Minister Karan held in Banja Luka.
During the staff meeting attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, and the heads of operational administrations, all the implemented and the planned activities of the RS MoI Security HQ ”ELECTIONS 2024” have been analyzed, and it was concluded that the police officers will undertake all the necessary measures and actions in their jurisdiction, in order to provide a favorable security situation during the local elections in BiH, scheduled for October 6th, 2024 at 2,042 polling stations in the Republic of Srpska.
The participants reiterated the determination of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior to, in cooperation with the prosecutors’ offices in the Republic of Srpska, undertake all the necessary measures and actions in order to prevent and sanction law violations of the election process during the local elections scheduled for October 6th. Additionally, it was agreed to engage on duty teams consisting of prosecutors and police officers who would react to any report about the commission of a criminal offence during the Election Day, respond on the spot and conduct an investigation.
Minister Karan invited the citizens to report any irregularities, offering money or threats to vote for someone or not to vote to the police
