MINISTER LUKAČ MET WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND TO BIH

Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač met with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH, Mr Edward Ferguson. Minister Lukač said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would cooperate with the British Embassy in BiH in the implementation of the project which would last for four years.  Minister pointed out that the project focused on strengthening the capacity of law enforcement agencies in BiH, and that it would contribute to increasing the capacity of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in the fight against organized crime, terrorism and extremism. Minister Lukač added that the British Embassy would invest 1.8 million pounds in the work of law enforcement agencies within this project. On this occasion, Mr Ferguson complimented the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior on professional work during the opening of the Ferhad Pasha mosque, and during the protest and meeting in Banja Luka. According to Mr Ferguson, the first phase of the project would be implemented in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Police. He added that he expected this project would provide a good quality exchange of information and intelligence data among the law enforcement agencies.
