The Republic of Srpska

Today, on the occasion of  the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, Minister of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, met the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior who participated in UN peacekeeping missions in the previous years. On this occasion, Minister Lukač stated that the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior  participated professionally, devotedly and bravely and that currently there were eight of them in UN peacekeeping missions. ’’ For 16 years, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has been sending their members to peacekeeping missions. So far, 66 of our members have participated in the missions where they encountered different problems and challenges ’’ Minister Lukač pointed out. The Police Director of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Gojko Vasić said that the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior presented the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best possible way. ’’Together with the investigations on international level, one of the most important issues for us is the participation of the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in peacekeeping missions. The conditions in which they stay are not easy, but they bravely cope with all the challenges ’’, the Police Director emphasized. The journalists were addressed by a member of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Ms Maja Gačić, who spent two years in South Sudan.
