The Republic of Srpska

The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior considers that certain attempts are inappropriate, as are the attempts of the member of the Central Election Commission in BIH, Mr. Suad Arnautović, and the president of the Municipal Election Commission in Srebrenica, Mr. Nermin Alivuković, to endanger the election process in this municipality by giving false and manipulated information about the involvement of the members of Special Police in Srebrenica. The members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior neither are involved nor present on the territory of Srebrenica. The members of the Support Unit of PSC Bijeljina and police members of different ethnicity from  Police Station in Srebrenica, with a different ,  are on  the territory of the municipality and municipal building of Srebrenica, and they are not ‘’ controlling the election materials’’. Instead, they have been protecting them from the moment they were delivered to Srebrenica.             The Police Station in Srebrenica received the report that two bags were taken from the municipal building of Srebrenica on 3 October 2016, around 10 p.m., and sent to the dump by the municipal sanitation workers. The bag with the election materials was found at the dumpsite in Kazani, near Srebrenica, and the Prosecutor on duty of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bijeljina was informed about the situation. The site investigation showed that it was not the election material of controversial content, which was also confirmed by the members of the Municipal Election Commission.             As a result of this case, on 4 October 2016, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., the Municipal Election Commission held a meeting in the office of the president of the Municipal Election Commission, Mr. Alivuković Nermin, which was attended by the president and the members of the Commission, Mr.  Sead Alić, Ms. Azra Hasić, and Ms. Nada Milosavljević. During and after the meeting, the police officers protected election materials in the hall of the Municipal Assembly, in the manner that they protected the immediate entrance into the Assembly hall, as well as entrances into the municipal building. Police officers neither attended the meeting of the Municipal Election Commission nor entered into the hall where the election materials were kept.
