Today, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, together with the President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, and the Republic of Srpska Prime, Miss. Željka Cvijanović, visited ’’Zalužani ’’ barracks near Banja Luka, where the construction of a training centre for members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is planned to start next year. The President, Mr. Milorad Dodik, stressed that equipping capacities for maintaining safety and defending the Republic of Srpska was of primary importance, and therefore good logistic conditions were necessary for the work, training, and accommodation of the members of the Ministry of the Interior. ‘’One of the most important goals is obtaining weapons and equipment for the Ministry of the Interior. We would like to be a part of an anti-terrorist coalition since terrorism is a big threat to BIH, but the Federation of BIH deals with this issue insufficiently  ’’, Mr. Dodik added. The Republic of Srpska Prime Minister, Miss. Željka Cvijanović, pointed out that the reconstruction of ‘’Zalužani’’ barracks for the needs of Ministry of the Interior would have several phases and that goal was to form the most modern centre in the region. ‘’After the reconstruction, we will have the best conditions for training and accommodation of the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. In this way, the locations used by Ministry of the Interior in Banja Luka will be less crowded ’’, Miss. Cvijanović said. The Minister of the Interior said that the 55 ha of territory of ‘’Zalužani ‘’ barracks were registered on the Ministry of the Interior and noted that BAM 6.5 million would be necessary for its reconstruction. While speaking about this project, Mr. Lukač added that organizational units of the Ministry of the Interior, including the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, Police Support Unit, Administration for Protecting  Persons and Facilities, Administration for Countering Terrorism and Extremism, as well as other organizational units  would be placed in these facilities.
