Today, at the ceremony of marking the Archangel Michael’s Day, the patron saint of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, congratulated all members of the Ministry the patron saint’s day. Minister Lukač said that equipping of Ministry would be continued, as well as training of its members in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Government and that construction of the Training Centre was in progress since more efficient manner of police training was necessary.   ‘’ This year as well, we have invested certain funds in equipping the Ministry of the Interior. All Support Units and Special Anti-Terrorist Units are equipped with new short and long barrels’’, Minister Lukač said. He added that new uniforms would be obtained since the validity period of the existing uniforms expired this year. ‘’We will try our best for the new uniforms to have better quality and our members to be satisfied with them. We will put a police hat, worn by most of police members worldwide, into service again’’, Minister Lukač stressed. The President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, said that, in the following year, significant amount of funds would be invested in equipping and logistic support of the Republic of Srpska Police in order to be prepared to respond to security challenges. Furthermore, President Dodik stressed that the Republic of Srpska Police was one of the best police agencies in the region. ‘’I hope that this will encourage all police members to be even more dedicated to their jobs’’, President Dodik said.  He congratulated the patron saint’s day to all police members and all students who graduated from the College of the Interior in the past year. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Government, Ms. Željka Cvijanović, said that the Government was determined to strengthen the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, as was shown in past. ‘’One of the aspects of strengthening is proper education. Today, 21 years from establishing the College of the Interior, we are going through one new transformation in order to provide more adequate structure which will respond to local, regional, and global challenges’’, Ms. Cvijanović sai
