Protection of children in the digital environment in the era of expanding technologies that carry numerous technological threats is becoming an increasing challenge, as the places where children learn, play, and interact are becoming borderless. In this regard, a joint response and international cooperation between police agencies, as well as the preventive role of all counterparts—from the home and school to the police - are crucial, stated the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Siniša Karan, at the 2024 Global Summit, which is being held this year in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The topic of the 2024 Global Summit, which gathered 800 experts from around the world is "Creating a Safer Digital World, Free from Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse for Future Generations". Minister Karan pointed out the importance of cooperation with the police agencies from other countries in prosecuting the criminal offences of sexual abuse and exploitation of children online. According to him, it is necessary to find new solutions to tackle sexual abuse online, and the Summit represented a great opportunity to examine the solutions and strategies implemented by other countries, used to enhance the legal framework, improve international cooperation and implement proactive measures to counter transnational crime.
