In cooperation with Europol and police agencies from the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Slovenia, the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior realized the international operation ‘Mozaik 2025’, focused on the prevention of the sexual exploitation of children.
As a part of the aforementioned operation, in cooperation with the police administrations Bijeljina, Zvornik, Banja Luka, and Doboj, the police officers from Crime Police Administration, the Unit for countering high-tech crime, arrested nine persons in the Republic of Srpska suspected of the commission of the criminal offence ‘Exploitation of Children for Pornography’, Article 175 of the Republic of Srpska Criminal Code.
Acting upon the orders of the competent courts, 12 locations were searched for which it was confirmed that were used by the persons related to the commission of the aforementioned criminal offence. On that occasion, the items representing the means for the commission of the criminal offence were found and seized: mobile phones, laptops, USBs, memory cards, SIM cards, and other devices for keeping digital information, as well as other items that may be related to the commission of the criminal offence.
The criminal offences were committed when the suspects, through social networks, as well as in communication groups, published and exchanged materials of sexual abuse and exploitation of children. Additionally, the suspects contacted children, and sent and made them create materials containing child pornography.
Furthermore, during the realization of the operation, two victims of the committed criminal offence were identified on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, aged 10 and 13, adopted by their relatives.
The Crime Police Administration, Unit for countering high-tech crime, will continue the implementation of the planned activities related to the detection and providing evidence for the criminal offences of sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
