The Republic of Srpska

From 23 to 27 August 2015, Female members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participated in 53rd annual Conference of the International Association of Women in Police (IAWP) which was held in Cardiff – Wales, in Great Britain. Within panel discussions at the Conference, members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior presented the work of Women’s Network of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, and shared their experiences with other participants of the Conference regarding the activities and projects they realized and their participation in the activities of Women Police Officers Network in South East Europe (WPON). Organization and the work of Women’s Network in the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior were recongnized as examples of good practice among the participants of the Conference. A member of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Ms. Sanja Sumonja, took the role of co-coordinator for the Region 15 IAWP (Central and East Europe), and will be appointed member of the Board of Directors of IAWP. At the Conference in Great Britain, 600 women police officers from 72 countries from the whole world participated and, this year, the 100th anniversary of establishing the International Association of Women in Police was celebrated.
