DUTIES

Duties

to process criminal offenses in the field of terrorism and extremism, as well as war crimes and criminal offenses according to international humanitarian law,
to control, monitor and instructively direct the activities of all organisational units of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior that are competent for processing the aforementioned criminal offenses, with the support of criminal intelligence analyses, forensic methods and resources and special operational activities,
to verify that activities of those organisational units are in accordance with the law,
to suggest measures, define deadlines, and determine the obligations of police administrations in the field of controlling the ordered measures with the aim of prevention, detecting and solving criminal offences from the field of terrorism and extremism, as well as detecting and solving war crimes and criminal offenses according to international humanitarian law,
to use all the available databases of the Ministry for the purpose of performing analytical investigations, as well as information from all open sources, provided that activities are performed in accordance with the law,
to abstract and use incidental findings collected during investigation and special investigation activities for the purpose of initiating a new investigation or completing the existing ones,
to monitor realisation, suggest improvement measures, study and analyse the situation, movement and forms of crime in their competence, as well as the application of forensic methods, criminal intelligence analysis and special operational activities,

to direct the activities performed by other organisational units related to preventing and countering terrorism and extremism,
to undertake measures related to improving the organisation, performing tasks and activities to improve the efficiency in countering terrorism and extremism,
to prepare bylaws that regulate activities and operations in the field of countering terrorism and extremism, prepare programmes for professional training and development,
to prepare programmes of professional education and training,
to prepare analytical and information materials from their field of work,
to realise the necessary cooperation with other state bodies,
to perform activities in accordance with relevant information from intelligence and security service when these are in competence of the Administration,
to perform other activities in the competence of the Administration.
