Today, at the Administration for Police Education, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Dragan Lukač, attended the ceremony of signing the contract on basic police training with 45 cadets of the 5th class for the members of Special Police Unit. This way, the cadets started their one-year training which is going to be conducted at the Administration for Police Education, and after that, they will continue their training at the Special Police Unit. Minister Lukač said that after rigorous psychological and physical training, among more than 600 candidates that applied for the training program, 45 of them were accepted. Head of the Administration for Police Education, Mr Mile Šikman, emphasized that the contract was signed with five girls as well, which represents reaching new standards when compared to previous generations. The selection of candidates for the Special Police Unit starts with an open competition where civilians can apply, and continues with rigorous physical and psychological tests. Minister Lukač announced that there would be an open competition for future cadets of Special Police Unit next year as well.
