The Republic of Srpska

The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX), organized a two-day workshop whose topic is ‘Human Trafficking Prevention’ in Banja Luka. The aim of the workshop is for the participants to be introduced to the legal framework of the European Union regarding the regulations in the field of human trafficking, the application of these regulations in practice and regional cooperation in this field. Furthermore, at the workshop, various forms of committing the criminal offence of human trafficking are discussed, as well as threats and challenges when identifying victims, investigations and criminal prosecution of perpetrators. In addition to the member of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, who presented the current situation in the Republic of Srpska when it comes to fighting against human trafficking, speakers at the workshop are the representatives of the ministries of the interior and judicial institutions from Spain, Lithuania and Romania.
