Today, head of the Public Security Center Prijedor, Mr. Dalibor Ivanić, participated at the meeting organized by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Security Forum of the town of Prijedor. The topic of the meeting organized by OSCE Mission was ‘Recognizing and preventing incidents motivated by hatred’. In addition to the head of the Center, the representatives of executive and representative bodies of Prijedor were present at the meeting, as well as the President and judges of the Municipal court in Prijedor, representatives of the District court in Banja Luka – Branch office in Prijedor, Security Forum of Prijedor, and those of the coalition for fighting against hatred ‘Prva tolerancija Prijedor’. At the meeting, general security situation was discussed, cooperation of all relevant subjects so far in their attempt to keep the stability in the community and activities of the police and OSCE in fighting against the incidents and criminal offences motivated by prejudices. During his speech, head of the Center greeted the participants and thanked the OSCE mission for excellent cooperation in solving this type of problems. Furthermore, Mr. Ivanić pointed out that, in the following period, meetings should be held before the tourist season, the period when a great number of citizens come from abroad. According to him, representatives of religious institutions, media, school boards, local community centers and all other influential individuals should be present at these meetings, because, within their competence, they can raise the awareness of citizens with the aim of preventing the hate-motivated incidents. Also today, on the premises of the Administration service of the town of Prijedor, the final meeting for 2015 of the Security Forum Prijedor was held. Mr. Ivanić was present at this meeting as well. In his statement for the media, he said: ‘The representative of Public Security Center Prijedor is an equal member of the Forum. I would like to validate the activities of the Forum in this year with the highest grade, because the representatives of the Forum completed their mission, which was to identify causes of phenomena in the field of security regarding endangering on a partner basis, and act proactively, which resulted in better security situation.’ He added that the Forum was very successful in their mission to make Prijedor a secure town, a town of coexistence and tolerance, with the security of citizens’ property on a high level, which makes it a better business environment, thus a better place to live for every citizen.
