On 22 December 2015, police officers of Crime Police Sector, in cooperation with Police Station for Interventions and Police Station Banja Luka – Obilićevo, found and arrested a Z. L. from the city of Banja Luka, born in 1961, because there were grounds for suspicion that during the same night the aforementioned person committed a criminal offence “Appropriating Another’s Car”. The suspect was accused that on 22 December, at around 8.30 p. m., on the parking space in Cara Lazara Street, in the city of Banja Luka, they used the absence and disregard of the owner and used the original car key, which was in the ignition, to start the motor vehicle brand “Golf 2”. After that, the suspect drove to the city of Prijedor, where they stole registration plates from another vehicle, put them on the stolen motor vehicle and returned to Banja Luka. There, around 2.30 a. m., in Knjaza Miloša Street, they were arrested by the police officers of the Police Station for Interventions. Thanks towell performed and coordinated activities of the police officers after the vehicle theft, the suspect was identified based on the operational information and video surveillance. Based on the collected evidence and investigation of the suspects, in the activities following the operational action “Fresh 1”, it was discovered that, in the period between 22 June and 9 December 2015, in the areas of Banja Luka and Prijedor, the aforementioned person committed the total of eleven criminal offences against property (five criminal offences “Aggravated Theft”, one criminal offence “Aggravated Theft”-“ “Appropriating Another’s Car”, three criminal offences “Appropriating Another’s Car”, a criminal offence “Attacking an Official Person in the Execution of Official Duties” and a criminal offence “Illegal Manufacturing and Trade of Weapons or Explosive Substances”), both individually and together with a Z. Đ., (born in 1997), an N. P. (born in 1994), and an M. M. (born in 1993), all of them from Banja Luka. The suspects were using physical power and appropriate tools to open doors of both houses and motor vehicles where they stole various items, batteries, lawn mowers and string trimmers. The total value of damage caused was approximately BAM 10,000. On 23 December 2015, the suspect Z. L. was handed over to the District Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings in their jurisdiction, and as a part of the regular procedure, a report against the other three suspects was submitted to the competent prosecutor’s office.
