Today, in Banja Luka, Administration for Police Education in cooperation with International Association of Criminalists organised a two-day international scientific and professional conference “Researches in criminalistics and criminology – current state and future perspectives”. At this conference more than 40 native and foreign scientists engaged in theory and practice are going to present their works from the field of criminalistics, forensics, criminology, criminal law and other sciences. Head of the Administration for Police Education, Mr Mile Šikman, said that the aim of discussions at the Conference was to find solutions to current issues that appeared in practice and learn about new and improve the existing methods in combating crime. Mr Šikman added that it was necessary to introduce into criminalistics practice methods used in other scientific disciplines and which would help in solving criminal cases. He also emphasised the importance of using information technologies for these purposes. President of the International Association of Criminalists, Mr Mile Matijević, noted that it was necessary to introduce new theoretical achievements into criminalistics practice and that there were excellent experts in this field whose knowledge should be used. Besides the academics’ and scientists’ presentations and discussions, a 3D forensic reconstruction of a criminal offence using “FARO HD CSI” software is going to be presented on the Conference.
