The Republic of Srpska

Today, in the city of Banja Luka, under the “Graski Most” bridge on the Vrbas river, there was a swimming race in which the participants were racing for the holy cross. Prior to that, on the streets of Banja Luka, there was a procession of the Epiphany. Around 40 participants swam this year. This year as well, as it occurred in the previous years, among the swimmers were the cadets of Police Academy Banja Luka, as well as students of the College of the Interior. The most courageous among the cadets of the basic police training for the Special Police Unit who swam for the holy cross were Arijan Šukalo, Milan Marić, Predrag Javorac, Dragan Vranješ, Saša Jeremić and Duško Špadić, whereas the most courageous among students were Dušan Bubulj and Nemanja Marjanović. Along with the cadets and students, among the swimmers was also a police education instructor from the Police Academy Banja Luka, Mr Aleksandar Miladinović. Also, it is important to mention that in the town of Bratunac, among those who were racing for the holy cross was Njegoš Sukara, while in the town of Prijedor was Aleksandar Mijatović, both of them cadets of the Police Academy Banja Luka. By participating in the aforementioned event, the cadets and students who are to become police officers are following and maintaining the tradition. Moreover, in this way not only the community policing is affirmed, but the cooperation with the community as well. Of course, it is important to note that only the bravest decide to participate in this swimming race, which is a characteristic confirmed by these acts of the aforementioned cadets and students who are members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.
