‘PLAY YOUR ROLE IN MAKING THE INTERNET A SAFER PLACE’

In cooperation with Ombudsman for children, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is marking the international Safer Internet Day under the slogan ‘Play your role in making the Internet a safer place’. On that occasion, an event is organized today at ‘Petar Petrović Njegoš’ primary school in Banja Luka. The aim of this activity is to promote safe Internet user behaviour and raising the awareness of young users above all, on dangers luring on the Internet, as well as promotion of non-violent communication and behavior online. Namely, along with the expansion of social networks, especially Facebook, ways of committing different criminal offences, the criminal offence of ‘Fraud’ in particular, have adapted to Facebook environment. For this reason, frauds on the Internet, in addition to stealing profiles and peer violence, are the most common forms of criminal activity on Facebook. In order to contribute to safety on the Internet, it is recommendable to follow these behaviour rules: 1. Manners from real life are valid on Facebook and the Internet in general. 2. Read privacy rules and follow them. 3. Update your password, user name and Facebook profile regularly. 4. Do not insult others and do not threaten. Also, do not answer to insults and threats. 5.
