Today, on 12 February 2016, in Prijedor, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, met with the mayor of the town of Prijedor, Mr. Marko Pavić, and head of Prijedor Public Security Center, Mr. Dalibor Ivanić. Minister Lukač said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is working on equipping their police officers, and therefore, those at Prijedor Public Security Center as well. ‘We are already working on equipping all our support units by providing new equipment and weapons for them and in future, they are also going to participate in high quality training, and the Support unit of Prijedor Public Security Center is one them. The aim of all these activities is safety of our citizens.’, Minister Lukač said. He pointed out that, on the territory of PSC Prijedor, numbers of all forms of crime are decreasing, and that the rate of solved criminal cases is very high. Minister added that it is very important the number of serious criminal offences and robberies is very low and that all those criminal offences from the previous year were solved. The mayor of the town of Prijedor, Mr. Marko Pavić, said that he was very pleased with the fact that PSC Prijedor, as the youngest public security center in the Republic of Srpska, had managed to be included in all activities and performance of all tasks in its competence. ‘I expressed my gratitude to Minister Lukač, because he also gave huge contribution for this PSC to be formed and function properly. Establishing this Public Security Center proved to be justified and we agreed it was necessary work on equipping it’, mayor Pavić said. Head of PSC Prijedor, Dalibor Ivanić, said he was pleased with the work of the members of the Center, with the results achieved, and pointed out that the citizens of Prijedor have trust in the police. ‘We have achieved very good results and a high level of personal and property security of citizens. Based on those affirmative activities and results, we additionally strengthen the trust of the citizens in the region of the town of Prijedor in the police’, Mr. Ivanić pointed out after the meeting.
