Police Director of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Gojko Vasić, said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior dedicates adequate attention to the issue of terrorism, and that the Administration for Fighting Terrorism was formed, which provided a sufficient number of people to deal with this problem. ″However, we can to nothing without the full support of Operational Group for Countering Terrorism which should operate at state level and which includes representatives of all police agencies and Prosecutor’s Offices in BiH. They should recognize potentially dangerous targets, process information about them and prevent their actions″, director Vasić said at the opening of workshop ″Prevention and Fight against Terrorism″ organized by the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the Instrument of European Commision for Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX). According to him, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is doing everything for the group of people of Administration for Countering Terorism to be properly trained. ″BiH is additionaly burdened with the problem of terrorism as a country which has gone through war events in the recent past. There is a great supply of weapons left from the war and it is easily accessible″, Mr. Vasić said. He noted that, in BiH, there are still lots of explosive devices that could be misused. ″There are cases that the young men who are originally from these areas, but born and raised in European countries, are recruited for the war in Syria. At this point, we do not know whether some of them are among migrants, which is a big problem″,  Mr. Vasić said. He believes that a great threat also comes from the people who were in war, but who do not receive social welfare, so joining to radical circles represents a great motive for them.
