The Republic of Srpska

Today, on 22 March 2016, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač had a meeting with the representative of UNICEF in BiH, Mr. Ayman Abu Laban. On this occasion, Minister Lukač introduced the representatives of UNICEF with preventive activities that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is implementing on prevention of juvenile delinquency on the territory of the Republic of Srpska. Also, Minister Lukač stressed that the project was currently being implemented, within which lectures were going to be organized in primary and secondary schools for more than 20,000 children, teachers, and parents. The representative of UNICEF, Mr. Ayman Abu Laban, said that the police were an important subject in the field of juvenile delinquency. He pointed that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior had recognized the need to protect children and minors, and commended preventive activities implemented by the Ministry. During the meeting, the project of equipping of juvenile interrogation room, implemented with the support of UNICEF, was discussed as well as the necessity of equipping more such rooms. Speakers also referred to training that was going to be performed in the future, and confirmed that the cooperation would be continued and intensified.
