Today, in Bijeljina, lecutures were held for high school students whose subject was ’’ Prevention of the Facebook abuse ’, organized by the Administration for Police Education of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and Public Security Center Bijeljina.   The aim of the lectures is to raise security awareness of students on the risks and dangers of Facebook use, and to inform Facebook users on how to adjust the use of this website to socially acceptable and affirmative way of communication.   An inspector at the College of the Interior, Mr. Aleksandar Miladinović,  who is also a lecturer, pointed out  that one of the preventive mechanisms against Facebook abuse was education of students on how to protect their profiles and to prevent negativities if they appear.   According to him, the most common Facebook abuse refers to abuse of photographs, Facebook profile theft, frauds, recruitment,  hate speech, whereas  the most extreme forms of Facebook abuse are at the level of criminal offence in real time, which can result in murders, suicides, and bullying.   In addition, every Facebook profile user should report to the police negative activities they consider as violation of social rules. Within their regular activities, the police shall undertake the necessary measures and actions to verify  if the reported action has the characteristics of a criminal offence, minor offence  or other behaviour that initiates an offence.
