Today, in front of Public Security Center Zvornik, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, unveiled the monument to honor the fallen members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, on which there was also an image of the police officer, Dragan Đurić, who was killed this day last year in the terrorist attack on the Zvornik Police Station.   ’’We must never forget our heroes who laid down their lives for the Republic of Srpska. Unfortunately, after so many years, our police officers are still losing their lives in such a terrible way, as the one that happened here in Zvornik’’, Mr. Lukač said.   Noting that he came to Zvornik right after he heard about the terrorist attack on the Police Station, Mr. Lukač said that the scenes he observed reminded him of war ones, and that even worse was the fact that the police officer, Dragan Đurić , was killed in brutal and insidious way without any chance to defend himself.   ’’After the terrorist attack in which our police officer was killed, many did not want to call this attack by its real name, and did not want to say it was a terrorist attack, but we knew it was obvious terrorismand that we were dealing with terrorists’’,  Mr. Lukač said. He stressed that, unfortunately, terrorists were on the territory of BiH, took the roots and wanted to threaten the freedom in the most inhuman way. ’’They want to threaten our children and freedom that we created. We shall and must not allow that. Our police officers will be ready to confront those like the ones who performed the terrorist attack in Zvornik on this day last year’’, Mr. Lukač said. He said that the police officers were brave and determined enough not to allow somebody to kill them on such treacherous and cruel way, so they confronted and neutralized the terrorist. The unveiling of the monument was attended by the Police Director of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Gojko Vasić, and representatives of Public Security Center Bijeljina, Public Security Station Zvornik, Municipality of Zvornik, the head of OSCE Mission to BiH, Mr. Johnatan Moore, and other guests,  who laid wreaths at the monument after the consecration and memorial service.
