The Republic of Srpska

Yesterday, in Loznica, at Šepak border-crossing between BIH and the Republic of Serbia, the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Republic of Serbia Ministry of the Interior performed joint exercise ‘Drina 2016’. The total number of about 200 members of both Ministries participated in the performance, and the aim of the exercise was to show strength and the level of training in fighting terrorism, as well as respond to all security challenges. The exercise was divided in three parts – eliminating terrorists on the border-crossing with air support, exercise on Drina River and parachuting. Additionally, 5 aircrafts and certain number of armored vehicles were used in the exercise. Before performing the exercise, the participants reported to the President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Milorad Dodik, and the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Tomislav Nikolić, and solemn lineup was performed in their honour. The presidents congratulated participants for performing the exercise successfully and agreed that there can be no borders in fighting against terrorism. The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, and the Republic of Serbia Minister of the Interior were also present at this event in Loznica. Furthermore, the Republic of Srpska Prime Minister, Ms Željka Cvijanović, and the Republic of Serbia Prime Minister, Mr Aleksandar Vučić, in addition to other ministers from both governments, clergy and other officials and citizens were also observed the exercise.
