The Republic of Srpska

Today, at the Police Academy, 131 cadets of 18th cadet class started the police training by signing a contract with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.             The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, said that 131 cadets were selected out of 1,055 registered candidates, 8 of these were the cadets of Brčko District Police, and added that they should be proud of the fact that they were selected, and others should be proud of the results of young police officers in future.             On this occasion, the Minister told the cadets that their main goal would be to serve the citizens, to protect the Republic of Srpska, BiH, the Constitution and laws.             In addition, Mr. Lukač pointed out that the Police of the Republic of Srpska needed young staff, and reminded that certain legal amendments provided the police officers with the oportunity to retire and new staff to educate sooner than previous years.              The Head of Administration for Police Education, Mr. Mile Šikman, said that the training would last for 13 months, and during this period after attending theoretical part and training in professional skills, the participants would attend a specialist training and  professional specialization, and after that they would be able to take a professional exam.              On this occasion, he also pointed out that this cadet class had been the largest class at the Police Academy since it had been established.              Cadets were also welcomed by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr. Darko Ćulum, and the Chief of Brčko District Police, Mr. Goran Pisić.
