POLICE OFFICERS ATTENDING THE COURSE ON PREVENTING AND COUNTERING TERRORISM

Today, on 12 September 2016, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač,  officially opened the course ‘’ Preventing and Countering Terrorism, Violent Extremism and Radicalism’’, organized by the Administration for Police Education for police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.         Mr. Lukač said that this and similar courses were organized to prevent possible terrorist acts that may happen in future, and that there was always a possibility for similar acts to happen in BIH, considering previous terrorist acts.        He stressed that the units of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior were trained for countering terrorism, and that they attended specialized trainings on a daily basis.        ‘’ In addition,  the aim of the exercise ‘Drina 2016’  was to train units for countering terrorism and possible similar acts  in future that may happen in BIH’’, Minister Lukač said.         He reminded that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior had signed contracts on joint exercises with other police agencies in South East Europe.          The aim of the course ’’ Prevention and Countering Terrorism, Violent Extremism and Radicalism’’ is to inform participants on  the aspects of preventing and countering terrorism, violent extremism and radicalism, as well implementation of modern intelligence-security methods and means.
