THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA POLICE DIRECTOR ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE IPA 2012 ‘’STRENGTHENING LAW ENFORCEMENT”

            Today, in his introductory speech at the ceremony of the official beginning of the project IPA 2012‘’ Strengthening Law Enforcement’’ in Sarajevo, Police Director of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Darko Ćulum, said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior  was dedicated to implementation of the best European practice in the field of internal affairs and security.             Furthermore, he stressed that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participated for the second time in this important project financed by the European Union, and that experience gained in Project IPA 2010 was precious. He added that it was the first project in which the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participated since it had been established.             ‘’ We hope that the work methods will be also used in the Project which has just started. We are particularly satisfied that, in this new Project as well, that funds for purchasing equipment were allocated in addition to technical assistance and transfer of knowledge ’’, Mr. Ćulum said.               Additionally, he pointed out that the security agencies in BiH would cooperate with colleagues from Slovenia, Austria, and Croatia in this project, as they had done in the previous one, and that they already had successful operational cooperation.             The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of the Interior, Mr. Aljoša Čampara, spoke at the meeting and said that the Project ‘’Strengthening Law Enforcement’’ represented the opportunity for the achievement of the highest European standards in the field of internal affairs.             The Federal Ministry of the Interior and Agency for European Integration and Economic Development of Austria in cooperation with the ministries of the interior of Croatia and Slovenia is going to lead the implementation of the project which is going to last for two years.
