The Republic of Srpska

Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, organized the reception for 12 police officers who expressed the most bravery, humanity, and dedication in performing their tasks and activities this year.   On this occasion, Minister Lukač awarded notes of thanks to the following police officers: Mr. Miloš Brkić, Ms. Marija Markanović, Mr. Budimir Popović, and Mr. Veljko Karanović from Banja Luka, then, Mr. Milenko Pribić from Kozarska Dubica, Mr. Igor Džabić and Mr. Zoran Pivaš from Brod, Mr. Zoran Petrović from Petrovo, Mr. Mirko Dubljević and Mr. Predrag Krstojević from Gacko, Mr. Bojan Medović and Mr. Branko Kulašević from Rudo. Minister Lukač stressed that all these police officers had expressed great bravery and humanity by putting their lives at risk in order to save lives of citizens.  ‘’All of them are police officers with great experience and knowledge, who enforced law and police regulations, but bravery and desire to assist in serious situations are here particularly emphasized ’’, Minister Lukač added. The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr. Darko Ćulum, said that police officers, who were awarded by the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, were also an example to other police officers in the Republic of Srpska, and expressed his hope that they would also motivate others to work harder. A police officer, Mr. Budimir Popović, said he was awarded the acknowledgment since he, together with his colleague, safely took the bomb out of hand of a person  when they were arresting that person. On that occasion, the safety pin was drawn from the bomb, and Mr. Popović prevented the person to activate bomb, and then, he took it from them. The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior traditionally organizes this type of reception for police officers who expressed the high degree of humanity and dedication in performing their activities and tasks.
