MARKING THE ANNIVERSARY OF FORMING THE SEVENTH SQUAD OF THE FORMER SPECIAL BRIGADE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR

Today, in Prijedor, where he attended marking of the 23rd anniversary of forming the Seventh Squad of the former Special Police Brigade of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, said it was our duty to remember and honour heroes who sacrificed their lives for the Republic of Srpska. ‘’Marking days of units is an opportunity to remember those who gave their lives for the Republic of Srpska and to honour them. Today, we are here to remember forming Prijedor Special Police Squad’’, Minister Lukač emphasized. The President of the Veterans’ Organization of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Milomir Savčić, said that he himself, as a member of the Republic of Srpska Army, had an opportunity to perform a large number of combat operations with the Special Police Brigade. ‘’Today, I would like to honour the fallen members of police squad, to express deep respect for all members of Special Police Brigade and to point out their enormous contribution in creating the Republic of Srpska. It was one of the most mobile units that we had on the territory of the Republic of Srpska’’, Mr. Savčić emphasized. The war commander of the Seventh Squad of the Special Police Brigade of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Zlatko Brdar said that marking 23 years of forming this squad was an opportunity for all its members to remember their comrades and honour their fallen friends. ’’ We are proud to remember the forming, as well as our fallen members, their military virtues, bravery and deeds, and at the same time, to take care of their families’’, Mr. Brdar emphasized. The Mayor of the city of Prijedor, Mr. Milenko Đaković, said that this was an opportunity to recall honorable names of people who gave the most to defend the foundations of the Republic of Srpska and honour of people who lived here. ‘’ The city of Prijedor is proud on members of the Seventh Squad of Special Police Brigade who showed that humanity and bravery are also proved in war and thereby contributed that today we build  a peaceful future in which our and their descendants will live’’, Mr. Đaković said.
