THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR CONTINUES A SUCCESSFUL COOPERATION WITH THE U.S. EMBASSY IN BIH

Today, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr. Darko Ćulum, met with the Chief of the Office of the U.S. Embassy in BIH, Mr. Ed Gallagher, Director of INL Program, Mr. Liam O’Flanagan, and Director of ICITAP in BIH, Mr. Charles Bennett. At the meeting, the previous cooperation and future activities were discussed. They also discussed the reorganisation of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, and particularly emphasised the transformation of public security centres into police administrations. Furthermore, they discussed the rejuvenation of staff of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, as well as the ‘’Use of Force’’ Training which would be implemented for members of police agencies in BIH. After the meeting with Director Ćulum, the delegation of the U.S. Embassy in BIH visited the Administration for Police Training, where they met with the Head of Administration for Police Training, Mr. Mile Šikman. They visited rooms with the equipment which was previously obtained in cooperation with ICITAP. For many years, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has had a successful cooperation with ICITAP, and it has been implemented through different projects, which were aimed primarily at the improvement of work of the Ministry of the Interior.
