Today, in Banja Luka, the ‘’Police Sports Day’’, the two-day sport competition of the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, has begun, and over 500 members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participate at this sport competition.             The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr. Dragan Lukač, opened the competition and said that this year’s ‘’Police Sports Day’’ had the largest number of competitors, which showed sport readiness of the Ministry of the Interior. ‘’Our goal is that police officers meet and compete in sport activities. There are enough young police officers who can achieve remarkable results’’, Minister Lukač said. He added that the ‘’Police Sports Day’’ was organised on the occasion of marking 4 April – the Republic of Srpska Police Day and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. In addition, he said that ‘’Police Sports Day’’ would be the two-day competition so that all planned sport activities could be finished in proper way. The President of the City Worker Union of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Ms. Anica Jondić, said that the ‘’Police Sports Day’’ was traditionally organised by the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Workers Union of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska since sport events of the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior were of great significance. ‘’This year is the year that also marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and Police. Therefore, this sport event will last longer and this year’s ‘’Police Sports Day’’ has the largest number of participants, ‘’Ms. Jondić said. At ‘’Police Sports Day’’, 19 teams are competing in seven sport disciplines.
