PREVENTIVE ACTION ‘’STOP CORRUPTION’’

800x600 Today, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with theU.S. Department of Justice's International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) in BIH, organised the preventive action ‘’Stop Corruption’’ at Krajina Square (Trg Krajine). On this occasion, the inspector in the Police Sector of the Police Administration Banja Luka, Mr. Miroslav Đukić, pointed out that the members of the Ministry of the Interior acted in 126 cases of reported and detected corruptive offences, which is 17% more than in first four months last year. He emphasized that the total number of 78 reports on committed criminal offences in the field of corruption which included 113 persons was forwarded to the prosecutor’s offices, which is 22% more than in the same period last year. ‘’The most common criminal offences in the field of corruption in the period are the following criminal offences: ‘Embezzlement’, ‘Abuse of Official Position’, ‘Abuse of Powers in Business’, ‘Accepting and Offering Bribe’, ‘Forging or Destroying Official Documents’, ‘Business Frauds’, ‘Counterfeiting or Destroying Business Books’ ‘’, Mr. Đukić stated. The Prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka, Ms. Dragana Lipovčić, said that 266 cases of corruption were reported to the Prosecutor’s Office last year, and 87 % of them are solved.
