The Association ”Women Police Officers Network of the RS Ministry of Interior – RS WPON” held today in Banja Luka constitutional Assembly, electing new members and Management and Supervisory Board. The Assembly was held with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it also resulted in adoption of the new Association Statute, and the Report on the work of the Association for the past six months was discussed and adopted. The Association ”Women Police Officers Network of the RS Ministry of Interior – RS WPON” was established in 2011, making the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska the first in the region to establish that type of association. The primary aim of the Network is to promote and apply principles of gender equality, strategic approach to employment of women in police, the questions of education, training, career development and promotion of the work results of female members of the RS MoI. Activities and projects implemented in the previous period with governmental and non-governmental sector regarding gender equality, organization of professional training, prevention of violence against women etc., were also discussed at the constitutional Assembly.
