28 PERSONS ARRESTED WITHIN POLICE ACTION ‘’PETRIĆEVAC’’

800x600 Today, members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, with the supervision of District Public Prosecutor’s Office Banja Luka, implemented the action whose code name was ‘’Petrićevac’’, within which 28 persons were arrested based on suspicion that they, as an organised criminal group, committed several criminal offences.At press conference, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, said that, along with drugs, certain amount of illegal arms and goods from previous thefts and burglaries committed by this criminal group was also found in searches which were performed at 31 locations.He added that background checks of weapons and persons were going to be performed in the following period in order to identify their connection with certain criminal offences.Minister Lukač expressed his congratulations to the Administration for Countering Serious and Organised Crime and to Police Administration Banja Luka for the successful implementation of action.Head of Administration for Countering Serious and Organised Crime, Mr Darko Ilić, said that several kilos of marijuana and certain amount of cocaine, weapons, and other items originated from other criminal offences were seized during the action.He pointed out that drugs were intended for resale on the territory of Banja Luka, Mrkonjić Grad, Kozarska Dubica, and Prnjavor.‘’ It was a well-organised group, where it was known what particular members were doing and what their task was.  After the procedure, persons are going to be handed over to the competence of District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka, and we will continue to collect evidence necessary for conducting criminal procedure’’, Head Ilić explained.He pointed out that out of 28 arrested persons, 22 of them had never been prosecuted or responsible for any criminal offence.Furthermore, at press conference, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Darko Ćulum, said that members of Police Administration Banja Luka solved the murder attempt of Danijel Topić in Borik, city of Banja Luka.Head of Police Administration Banja Luka, Mr Željko Spasojević, said that persons, whose initials were D.Ć (1982) and A.F. (1986), were arrested based on suspicion that they inflicted life-threatening injuries to 31-year- old person the day before in Banja Luka.‘’Police members are interviewing suspects and undertaking all necessary measures and actions with the aim of solving circumstances of this case’’, Head Spasojević added.   Normal 0 false false false EN-US
