Republic of Srpska Minister of Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, took part in the Statutory Assembly of the War Veterans Organisation (WVO) of the Special Police Brigade that gathers all the war members of the Special brigade.”Our aim is to take care of our war veterans and their families in an organised manner and to celebrate the important dates that the members of the Special Police Brigade celebrated during the fights in the war”, Lukač pointed out.Minister Lukač reminded that 784 members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior lost their lives in the Defense of the Fatherland War, 144 of them being members of the Special Police Brigade.President of the War Veterans Organisation of the Republic of Srpska (BORS), Mr Milomir Savčić, considers that this unit represented the support for all the units of the RS Army in the hardest moments, and that for that reason it should hold a special place in the BORS as a whole and have its representatives in the highest bodies of the War Veterans Organisation of the Republic of Srpska.”The members of the Special Police Brigade of the RS Ministry of Interior represent elite fighters of the Republic of Srpska Army and we simply felt the need to announce this unit as the collective member of BORS”, said President Savčić.President Savčić said that, in that manner, both the authority of BORS and the war veterans’ community as a whole are taken to a higher level and that this unit is given an enormous recognition for its contribution to the establishment of the Republic of Srpska.The war commander of the Seventh special brigade of the Republic of Srpska Police, Mr Zlatko Brdar, told the press that the statutory assembly will connect all the organisational units of the brigade that exist in their municipalities.Brdar concluded that the establishment of the coordination board of the brigade on the entire territory of the Republic of Srpska was currently in process, and that the umbrella War Veterans Organisation of the Special Brigade of the RS will be established afterwards, and that will operate in accordance with the BORS statute and be its collective member.RS Police Director, Mr Darko Ćulum, war commanders and members of the Special Police Brigade of the RS MoI were also present at the Statutory Assembly.
