After a symbolic replacement of black berets with the red ones, 43 members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit completed today in Trn the basic training for police officers specialist that lasted nine months. The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, said that the Ministry received a new impulse and strength to perform its most important objective – maintaining security of the citizens and their property, when young members of SAU took up their duties. ”These young people are trained to fight against any threats that might endanger the Republic of Srpska or its citizens”, Minister Lukač said. The Minister congratulated the members of SAU for successfully completed training, and advised them to carry their beret with dignity and pride, because not everyone is able to do what they did through strong selection, Police Academy and training for police officer specialists. Commander of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, Mr Dragan Ribić, pointed out that these young people have completed a demanding and extremely hard training that was conducted through basic and specialist training, expressing his satisfaction that the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit was reinforced with young people. The training itself contained two parts – basic and advanced training, and it included segments such as special and tactical actions, training in using firearm, alpinist and physical training.
