Celebration of the Republic of Srpska Police Day and opening of the Training Centre

On the occasion of celebrating the Republic of Srpska Police Day and opening of the Zalužani Training Centre, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, said today that the Republic of Srpska Police is always with their citizens and that the police officers are ready to risk their lives to protect the citizens and their property. He added that the Republic of Srpska MoI was and will remain the first peacekeeper in the Republic of Srpska. President of the Republic of Srpska Government, Mrs Željka Cvijanović, said that strengthening of all institutions in the Republic of Srpska is important, including the police, and that, in the past couple of years, the Government had invested significant funds in facilities and equipment used by the police. President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Milorad Dodik, said that the safety of the Republic of Srpska is in the hands of its Ministry of the Interior. Minister Lukač and Director of the Police, Mr Darko Ćulum, presented the awards to the most worthy organizational units and individuals in the Republic of Srpska MoI, as well as associates who contributed to the achievement of the results. The Golden Police Badge was awarded to the Administration for Countering Organized and Serious Crime and the Diving Team within the Specialized Team of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit. The Silver Badge was awarded to the Administration for Protecting Persons and Buildings, police officer of the Police Administration Prijedor, Mr Slađan Dačić, the District Public Prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka, Mr Saša Labotić and U.S. Defence Attaché in BiH, Mr Mark Karas.  Awardees received plaques and letters of appreciation. Today in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior solemnly marked 26 years of the existence and activity of the Republic of Srpska Police. The marking began with the memorial service for 782 members of the Republic of Srpska MoI who gave their lives for the creation of the Republic of Srpska.
