Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior informs citizens that the Law on Amendments to the Law on Weapons and Ammunition will enter into force tomorrow providing a new deadline for replacement of expired firearms licenses without minor offence procedure for the owners. According to the paragraph 2 of the Article 75 of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Weapons and Ammunition, a new deadline for replacing the expired firearms licences without minor offence proceedings for the owners of weapons for personal protection is 31 December 2018 instead of the previous deadline 30 June 2017 which was determined in the previous amendments to the Law. The purpose of establishing a new deadline for replacing an invalid firearms licence, i.e. making such amendments to the Law, is primarily for the owners of weapons who have missed the previous legal deadlines and who are interested in keeping weapons for personal protection to acquire a valid firearms licence without being proceeded for committing an offence.
