THE POLICE ORCHESTRA TOOK PART IN MARKING THE WORLD MUSIC DAY

  Yesterday, on 21 June 2018 in Banja Luka, the Police Orchestra of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior participated in marking the World Music Day and in the project “Culture passing by”. On this occasion, the Orchestra performed several pieces in Gospodska Street in front of the Church of Christ the Saviour and in Park Petar Kočić. The Police Orchestra has 25 contracted professional musicians. It was formed with the support of the President of the Republic of Srpska, and they had a debut appearance on the Republic of Srpska Day. Since 9 January, the Orchestra has performed at several ceremonies, marking historical events of importance for the Republic of Srpska. It is engaged at the invitation of the Committee for the Promotion of the Tradition of the Liberation Wars of Republika Srpska. World Music Day is marked by a series of concerts at nine locations in Banja Luka, featuring more than 200 performers including members of the string quartet "Paladio", women's chamber choir "Banjalučanke" and others.
