THE FIRST MEETING OF THE COORDINATION BODY FOR MONITORING MOVEMENTS OF ILLEGAL MIGRANTS ACROSS THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

 Today, after the meeting of the Coordination Body for Monitoring Movements of Illegal Migrants, its chairman, Police Director, Darko Ćulum, said that the cooperation among police administration, local communities and citizens would be intensified regarding detecting or finding migrants and their transfer across the territory of the Republic of Srpska would be provided. Director Ćulum presented the conclusions of the meeting and pointed out that, in the Republic of Srpska, there are no capacities or facilities to accommodate and provide for migrants. He added that, if necessary, the Government would, in cooperation with local communities, provide for all the necessary logistics for their humanitarian transit across the territory of the Republic of Srpska. He also mentioned that 90 members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior cooperated with the Border Police of BiH on repression of illegal transitions across the border. Since the beginning of this year, members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior detected and arrested 2,031 migrants from 22 countries. Most of them were detected on the territory of the Police Administration in Bijeljna, and then in the Police Administrations in Zvornik and Trebinje. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
