Today, in Banja Luka, in the facilities of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Police Director, Darko Ćulum, chaired the third session of the Coordination body for monitoring the movements of illegal migrants across the territory of the Republic of Srpska. At the meeting, it was stated that police officers had detected 2,852 migrants who entered the territory of BIH illegally from the beginning of the year, and that most of them had no identification documents. More than half of the migrants were wound on the territory of Bijeljina Police Administration whereas a significant number of illegal migrants was also recorded on the territory of the city of Zvornik. Regarding the illegal migrants on the territory of the Republic of Srpska, police officers have submitted 23 reports against 28 people to the Prosecutor’s Office of BIH based on the suspicion that they committed 25 criminal offences of ‘People smuggling’ (Article 189 of the Criminal Code of BIH). Furthermore, on the territory of the Republic of Srpska, there were no criminal or minor offences or disturbance of public order and peace committed by illegal migrants. One of the most important reasons for this is that the Republic of Sprska Police has established good control of illegal migrant movements. Except for citizens being anxious with the presence of migrants on locations where they appear, for the moment, illegal migrants committed no criminal offences and did not disturb public order and peace, and this is because the police allow no unmonitored movement of illegal migrants. In future, too, all police administrations will continue to work intensely on solving the issues related to illegal migrations.
