MINISTER LUKAČ WITH THE CHIEF OF BANJA LUKA OFFICE OF THE US EMBASSY IN BIH

Today, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, met with the chief of Banja Luka Office of the US Embassy in BIH, Mr Corey Gonzalez, and political advisors from the Embassy. During the introductory visit to the Republic of Ministry of the Interior, cooperation of the Ministry and the US Embassy was discussed with special emphasis on the cooperation with the Banja Luka Office. The Office Chief Gonzalez extended to Minister Lukač appreciation of the Embassy for excellent engagement of police officers and solving the case of the attack on journalist, Mr Vladimir Kovačević. At the meeting, the upcoming elections in BIH were also mentioned, as well as illegal migrations and other challenges in the context of security situation in the Republic of Srpska. Minister Lukač explained that every election year carried certain challenges, but that it would not threaten the security situation in the Republic of Srpska. Furthermore, the Minister informed the Office Chief Gonzalez about the movements of illegal migrants in the Republic of Srpska and the engagement of the police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in providing support to the BIH Border Police. Additionally, future trainings for the members of the Ministry within the Police Academy and Training Centre of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior were addressed at the meeting.  Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
