Today, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, met  with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Matthew Field. This was the introductory visit of the Ambassador Field after taking office in August this year. Minister Lukač and Ambassador Field agreed that operational and strategic cooperation of institutions they represent was on a high level, and that it would continue through the realization of joint projects. At the meeting, the current issues were discussed, with special emphasis on the issue of security in the pre-election period, public gatherings, and countering terrorism and extremism. Minister Lukač said that the members of the Ministry of the Interior would undertake all necessary measures so that the citizens of the Republic of Srpska would be able to realize their voting rights in a democratic manner and without obstructions. Ambassador Field presented the focus of his work in BIH, and pointed out that he would advocate for implementation of human rights and freedoms, particularly peaceful gathering, the right to vote and media freedom. At the meeting, the conclusions of the summit of EU and Western Balkans in London, in July this year, were also mentioned, since the decision was adopted on increasing investments in the countries of the Western Balkans and these investments would also include the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.   Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
