The Republic of Srpska

              Early September this year, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior signed AMBER Alert Europe’s Memorandum of Understanding. AMBER Alert Europe, whose primary aim is saving the lives of missing children in Europe, now has 29 members from 21 countries.             In addition to becoming a member, the Republic of Srpska’s Crime Police Administration has joined AMBER Alert Europe’s Police Expert Network on Missing Children, which aims to bring together law enforcement experts in the field of missing children. The Network now includes over 50 professionals from 18 different countries. AMBER Alert’s founder and chairman, Frank Hoen, said that the police officers of the Republic of Sprska would contribute to the activities of the Network through their set of unique competences and experiences, which can be useful during the search for missing children in Europe. AMBER Alert Europe emphasises the importance of a national alert system that can be initiated when children go missing and when there is reason to believe that their life or health is in danger. These national alert systems connect citizens with law enforcement authorities when the police believe that the public can help find a missing child. The child’s image and description, as well as information on where the child was last seen, are immediately brought to the attention of the public through media and other communication channels. Through the Police Expert Network, AMBER Alert Europe also facilitates cooperation and information sharing between law enforcement experts across Europe. Besides cross-border cooperation, the Network provides training to law enforcement authorities on how to deal with missing children cases.             The goals of AMBER Alert Europe are backed by 465 Members of the European Parliament: most successful Written Declaration since 2011. 800x600 Normal 0 false false
