His Grace Jefrem, Bishop of Banjaluka, consecrated the foundation stone of the Memorial Church of Saint Archangel Michael in the RS MoI Training Centre complex in Zalužani. During the ceremony, Minister Lukač said that the names of 782 fallen members of this Ministry, who lost their lives during the fight for the Republic of Srpska, will be engraved on the church walls. He pointed out that in that manner the Ministry fulfills its duty towards them and expresses the gratitude by always mention them in the prayers and that their sacrifice for this country and the people will never be forgotten. Bishop Jefrem expressed his wish that the consecrated foundation stone will become a construction site in the near future in order to build a church where people would gather in their prayers for both the living and their progress and the deceased. Archpriest Miroslav Malinović expressed his satisfaction that the members of the RS MoI, as well as the citizens, will have the opportunity to pray and remember the fallen police officers in this unique place, making them immortal through their prayers and remembrance. He pointed out that the church will be constructed in Serbo-Byzantine architectural style, with wood carved iconostasis, marble floors and names of the fallen members engraved in the walls. On the occasion, Minister Lukač also mentioned the construction works in the RS MoI Training Centre that are in process in six buildings. Minister pointed out that this would be a modern Centre, where police officers - from special forces, support units and uniformed police, will carry out the necessary training. Additionally, Minister Lukač mentioned that the Ministry is determined to rejuvenate the police forces, and that 790 police officers have completed the training at the RS MoI Police Academy over the past few years.
