Today, in Banja Luka, Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, organized a traditional reception and awarded letters of appreciation to 19 police officers for the high degree of professionalism and dedication in performing their duties, who risked their lives saving others and their property. Minister Lukač said that this was a traditional reception for the brave police officers, whose brave deeds represent not only themselves and their uniform, but also the whole Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. The Minister stated that these police officers stand as the guarantee of security and represent the best example of what the RS Police has to offer, and that he was confident that there were many similar police officers in this Ministry. Police officer of Doboj Police Administration, Sifet Okić, rescued people who suffered a traffic accident when their vehicle crashed into Spreča River. Police officers of Trebinje Police Administration, Dragan Samardžić, rescued children involved in a hostage situation, whereas his colleague, police officer of the Support Unit of Foča Police Administration, Nemanja Trivun, rescued two boys who were trapped in Drina Driver. Along with these three police officers, letters of appreciation were also awarded to: Police officers of Police Station Banja Luka – Lazarevo, Njegoš Đekanović, who rescued the man who jumped into Vrbas River from the bridge in Slatinska St.; Police officer of Police Station Banja Luka – Lauš, Ilija Palalić, who rescued a woman trying to jump from the window of University Clinical Centre; police officer of Support Unit of Prijedor Police Administration, Dejan Zlokapa, who found a lost wallet with personal documents and money and returned it to its owner; police officers of Police Station Prijedor 1, Dragan Popović and Igor Prodan, who managed to talk one person out of jumping from the bridge over Sana River; police officer of Police Station Kozarska Dubica, Nenad Samardžija, who prevented one person to commit suicide using firearm; police officer of Prijedor Police Administration, Slađan Dačić, who rescued one person from Sana River after jumping of the bridge;  Police officers of Doboj Police Administration, Nenad Đukić, who was injured in attempt to stop a stolen vehicle; Police officers of Police Station Petrovo, Branislav Dragičević and Predrag Poljašević, who rescued an unconscious person from a fire burning apartment;
